BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Bwindi a UNESCO world heritage site is 331 square kilometers and is located in South Western Uganda, on the edge of the western rift valley, shared by Kabale, Rukungiri, and Kisoro Districts. It lies on an altitude range of 2607m (Rwamunyonyi peak)-1160m (Ishasha gorge). The forest is considered ancient and has existed for more than 25000 years with over 300 Gorillas which is considered half of the world’s population with a number of them habituated and can accommodate humans for a limited time about 346 bird species, 324 tree species a number of butterflies and reptiles makes it an outstanding beautiful rain forest which you won’t come across anywhere else in the world.
